Every villager’s home in India have Cows
Indian culture has lot of importance to Cows which is considered as Mother Earth as per Hindu mythology . Cows are considered as revered animals in Hinduism and is part of religious ritual by Hindus in India . Hindus worship cows is a part of their daily life. Cow is associated with Lord Krishna as his companion and Bull ( Nandi ) with Lord Shiva . All the Hindu temples do have Idols of Gods with Cows and Nandi . Most of villagers in India have cows in their home as livestock for having milk.
30% Cows of the world are in India
There are 1.0 billions cattle in this world . India has 310 Millions cattle out of which 200 Million are cows. India produces 23% of World’s milk production. Indian each state of West Bengal , UP , Madhya Pradesh have 19 Millions Cows and Bihar have 16 Millions. There are countries wherein the population of Cattles are more than the country’s population.

Few countries eat their national Animals
Cow is not a national animal of India but carry respect and are loved by Hindus. But there are many Indian who eat beef which included Hindus. Indian worship cows and but at same time kill her and eat Beef !! There are countries in this world who kill and eat meat of their national Animals and enjoy it.

Indian worship Cows and eat them too !!
Beef is part of major meat item in many countries. USA is the heaviest eater of beef. 350 Millions Cows are slaughtered every year globally for meat . 90% of population of Telgana , west Bengal , Andhra Pradesh eat beef . in Punjab & Haryana only 10% eat beef. Kerala in India is the heaviest eater of Beef.

Indians are making Cows shelters for stray cattle
9 out of 28 states of India have banned Cow slaughters . This has resulted in to the problem to handle non milk producing Cows which has become stray cattle now. There are 5 Million stray cattle roaming around the streets in India which no body wanted to own them. State govt and Govt of India are working on the projects of constructing Cow shelters for stray cattle , but the task in very difficult to achieve as it lack of funds and volunteers to run them. Rajasthan have more than 1800 and UP have 5,500 cow shelters being run my govt and funded Charitable organization. Pathmeda Godham in Rajasthan is the biggest Cow shelter in India having shelters for 85,000 cows.
Indian roads are prone to stray cattle accidents
Due to ban and restriction on slaughters of Cows , the stray cows in the street of Indian town are increasing which has resulted in civil menace in cities . One can see Cows sitting in mid of the road in India , which some time leads to accidents . 25% of accidents on Indian road are due to Stray cattle which are mostly cows.
Foot note – Protection of Cows is a part of political agenda of many Political parties in India to get more votes. Still more than 30,000 Cows are slaughtered every day in India for meat, at same time majority of Hindus in India worship Cows as a deity. Keeping these sentiments I do not eat Beef , do you ?
