When USA allowed in 70s the immigrants from south Asia to work there , Punjabi from India migrated the most . Sikhs who were having background of being a farmers were accepted in California and other states where they drove Agricultural machinery and tractors . As in most of the winters there is heavy snow on Canadian road , truck driving on highway is very risky during snowing and also temp goes down to minus 30 Degree. Punjabi #Sikhtruckers living in USA and Canada carry a very high image and great respect in Indian Punjab. The Truckers ( mostly Sikh ) who own trucks in USA/Canada have the capacity to earn up to Rs 10 Million / year. Punjabi back home consider that Truckers are living luxury life in USA , Canada and other Europe . Many of Punjabi youth are aspired to be Truck drivers in the west.
