Managing such a vast congregation of 680 Millions ( Double the population of USA ) required extensive logistical planning. A temporary township was erected . Over 13,000 trains, including 3,000 special services, were deployed to accommodate the influx of pilgrims . Existing city Airport was upgraded to increase the capacity . 450km internal / external roads were built & upgraded .

Tent City
To manage a huge gathering in a single spot a tent city spanning approximately 4,000 hectares was erected. The tent city comprises around 150,000 tents and an equal number of toilets to serve the vast number of attendees. Temporary City: A 4,000-hectare tent city was established, featuring approximately 150,000 tents to house pilgrims.
Ghats & Sectors: The ghats spanned 12 km, and the area was divided into 25 sectors for efficient management.
Sanitation Facilities: Around 150,000 toilets and urinals were installed, maintained by 10,000 sanitation workers.
River Cleanliness: 500 Men and water cleaning machines were deployed to maintain the sanctity of the river during the event.

Transportation & Connectivity
Rail Services: Indian Railways operated approximately 360 trains, including 190 special trains, to manage the surge in pilgrims.
Road Infrastructure: Over 450 km of roads were constructed or upgraded, and 1,850 hectares were designated for parking.
Air Connectivity: Prayagraj Airport which was upgraded with Rs 3,000 Million , facilitated daily flights from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore.
River Services : 100s of Boats was pressed in to service to ferry piligrims for holly dip and a tour in Ganaga.

Personnel Deployment: Approximately 40,000 police officers, along with personnel from UP-PAC, NDRF, and Central Armed Police Forces, were deployed.
Surveillance: A network of around 2,300 cameras provided 24/7 monitoring, supplemented by underwater drones for recovery operations.
Fire Safety: The fire department was equipped with 351 firefighting vehicles, over 2,000 personnel, and advanced equipment like articulating water towers.

During period when Mahakubh was happening in India , I asked the peoples who could not go for Kumbh , almost all wanted to visit but could not due to other engagement , few with the tears in the eyes. India being so vast, varied and divided comes together as one in search of its spiritual soul.
As Holy Mecca pilgrim in Saudi Arab unite Muslims of the world , Pop unite Christians , the Mahakumbh in India did unites Hindus of the world. Hindus from all corners of India irrespective of their caste and status joined together for spiritual purification , cleanse sins and achieve moksha at the bank of Ganga for a Holy dip.
