Do you know American President Gerald Ford was attacked with gun two times , by two separate women in a gap of two weeks
The history of the Presidents of the United States reflects not only the growth of a nation but also the challenges faced by its leaders. Among the most tragic events in this history are the assassinations of four presidents—Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy.

Four US Presidents survived the assassination attempt – Theodore Rosevelt , Garold Ford , Ronald Regan and Donald Trump survived the killer bullets.
These incidents occurred at different times and under different circumstances, yet each left a deep impact on USA. From the aftermath of the American Civil War to the tensions of the Cold War era, the assassinations were shaped by political conflict, social change, and, in some cases, personal motives.

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Booth was a well-known actor and a supporter of the Confederate cause. He shot Lincoln on April 14, 1865, at Ford’s Theatre. Lincoln died the next day from his injuries. Lincoln’s assassination was not random—it was driven by deep political division, racism, and the aftermath of war. Booth was later tracked down and killed by Union soldiers while trying to escape.

James A Garifield who was the 20th Presidents of USA and was assassinated at the age of 49 years.
- Year – 1881

James A. Garfield was assassinated by Charles J. Guiteau. Guiteau shot Garfield on July 2, 1881, at a train station in Washington, D.C. Garfield did not die immediately—he passed away weeks later from his injuries. Guiteau was later captured, tried, and executed for the crime.
Unlike some other assassinations, Garfield’s killing was not driven by a major ideological movement, but by one unstable individual with personal grievances. Guiteau believed he deserved a diplomatic position for supporting Garfield’s election. When he was denied, he became bitter and blamed Garfield personally and shot him dead.

William Mcklay

William McKinley was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz. He was shot on September 6, 1901, at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. McKinley died eight days later from his wounds. Czolgosz was influenced by anarchism, an ideology that opposed governments and authority. He believed political leaders like McKinley were oppressive. He felt the government favoured the rich and powerful, and that ordinary workers were suffering. Czolgosz was captured immediately and later executed for the assassination.

John F Kennedy
John F Kennedy who was the 35th Presidents of USA and was assassinated at the age of 46 years.
- Year – 1963
- Killed by whom – Lee Harvey Oswald , was a trained Radar operator but defected to USSR
- Where – in open-top motorcade Dallas – Texas
John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, but the exact motive is still debated, few claims CIA was behind his murder.

He was shot in Dallas. The official investigation (the Warren Commission) concluded that
Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Oswald had pro-communist views and had previously lived in the Soviet Union. He may have opposed U.S. policies during the Cold War. He struggled in life and may have wanted to gain attention or make a dramatic impact. Unlike some other assassinations, there was no single clear reason—his motives appear to be a mix of ideology and personal issues.
Kennedy’s assassination remains one of the most studied and controversial events in modern history, with motives that are not fully certain even today. Oswald was arrested but killed before he could stand trial. Because of this, and some unanswered questions, many people still debate whether he acted alone.

An assassination attempt on Theodore Roosevelt happened in 1912, and it was driven mostly by personal instability and delusion, not a clear political movement . The bullet was slowed by a folded speech and glasses case in his pocket, so he survived—and even continued his speech before getting medical care. Roosevelt was running again after already serving as president, which Schrank thought was wrong and dangerous for democracy. Doctors later found killer Schrank mentally ill, and he spent the rest of his life in an institution.

In the line of fire – Surviving Bullets
These incidents of life threat to President of USA have occurred at different times and under different circumstances, yet each left a deep impact. From the aftermath of the American Civil War to the tensions of the Cold War era, the assassinations were shaped by political conflict, social change, and, in some cases, personal motives.
The U.S. president is one of the most visible political figures in the world, which makes the President a symbolic target. That visibility can attract individuals who want attention or believe they’re making a dramatic statement. Assassination attempts on U.S. presidents are extremely rare events carried out by a tiny number of individuals, and they don’t reflect the behaviour or temperament of the broader population of USA.
